The 17th NAPROCK International Programming Contest (NAPROCK PROCON 2026 in Hanoi) opened on March 8, 2026 at the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University (VNU-UET). Themed “ICT for a Green Future”, the contest was hosted by VNU-UET in collaboration with the NAPROCK Programming Contest Supporting Association and the Vietnam Informatics Association.
2026 marks the first time the NAPROCK International Programming Contest is held in Viet Nam. The contest brought together 36 teams with 114 students from four countries: Viet Nam (15 teams), Japan (12 teams), Thailand (3 teams), and Mongolia (6 teams), affirming its position as a prestigious academic forum for students passionate about programming and technological innovation.
INT2 was proud to sponsor this international event, which gathered outstanding students representing the new generation of young engineers in the region. The opening ceremony featured remarks by Prof. Kuwabara Hirofumi (President of the NAPROCK Association), Prof. Taniguchi Isao (President of the National Institute of Technology, Japan), Ambassador Ito Naoki (Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam), and VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son.

VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son emphasised that as Viet Nam embarks on a new era of national growth with a vision to become a developed nation by 2045, science, technology, and innovation are the primary engines of progress. He noted that this year’s theme, “ICT for a Green Future”, reflects the responsibility of information technology to go beyond algorithms and code toward environmental protection and sustainable development.
