The 10th International Workshop on Vietnamese Language and Speech Processing (VLSP 2023) was held on December 15-16, 2023, at VIASM, Hanoi, co-organised by the VLSP Club (VAIP) and VIASM. The workshop attracted nearly 200 participants and featured 10 shared tasks and 2 invited talks.
A highlight of VLSP 2023 was the Vietnamese Large Language Models (VLLM) evaluation task, the first of its kind for Vietnamese. The task aimed to promote the development of LLMs tailored for Vietnamese by constructing a comprehensive evaluation dataset covering 4 abilities (logical thinking, background knowledge, problem handling, user alignment), 8 skills, and 9 domains. INT2, together with its parent company HPC SYSTEMS (Japan), co-sponsored the VLLM task, providing computing resources and GPU infrastructure. Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuuong, CEO of INT2, served as a task organiser alongside researchers from Ton Duc Thang University, EDMICRO, JAIST, and Nanjing University.
INT2 has been a consistent sponsor and partner of the VLSP community for over 15 years, a commitment that began in 2008 with the VLSP Project. Through engineering expertise and high-performance computing infrastructure, INT2 and HPC SYSTEMS continue to support the growth of Vietnamese NLP and speech technology research, reflecting a dedication to advancing Vietnam’s AI capabilities through sustained investment in the research community.
