INT2 sponsors MAPR 2026 – International Conference on Multimedia Analysis and Pattern Recognition

INT2 participated as a Bronze Supporter at the 9th International Conference on Multimedia Analysis and Pattern Recognition (MAPR 2026), held in Hue City, Vietnam, on August 13–14, 2026.

MAPR is an international conference series organized by the University of Information Technology (UIT, VNU-HCM), the Vietnamese Association on Pattern Recognition (VAPR), the Institute of Information Technology (IOIT, VAST), and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, HUST. The conference is technically sponsored by IEEE and indexed in Scopus. After the success of the 8th MAPR 2025, this year’s edition continues to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to share their latest findings and foster collaborations in AI, pattern recognition, multimedia, and emerging application domains.

The conference features three keynote speakers:

– **Professor Ngo Chong Wah** (Singapore Management University) – “What Multimodal Large Language Models See and Miss in Cultural Contexts?”
– **Professor Ching-Chun Huang** (National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan) – “Beyond Perceptual Quality: Towards Geometry- and Physics-Grounded Generative Multimedia AI”
– **Professor Nobutaka Ono** (Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan) – “Audio at the Edge: Low-Latency Blind Source Separation and Blinky-Based Acoustic Scene Recognition”

MAPR 2026 covers three focused tracks: Foundations of AI and Machine Learning; Computer Vision, Multimedia, and Language Processing; and AI Applications and Emerging Domains. The conference received a large number of submissions, with over 100 accepted papers spanning topics such as deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, medical image analysis, AI for cybersecurity, hardware-aware neural network optimization, and Vietnamese language processing.

As a Bronze Supporter, INT2 supports AI and multimedia research in Vietnam, alongside its sponsorship of the VLSP evaluation campaigns and other academic community initiatives.

INT2 sponsored the ICT Meetup Spring Binh Ngo 2026, held on March 13, 2026, at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Hanoi. The event was co-organised by an alliance of 20 professional societies in the ICT and digital transformation sector.

Themed “Breakthrough in institutions, science, technology and innovation”, the event took place amid historic changes to Vietnam’s government structure, with the merger of the Ministry of Information and Communications into the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the reduction from 30 to 21 government bodies. The country was also reorganised into 34 provinces and cities under a two-tier local government model.

Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Pham Duc Long delivered the keynote, stating that “science and technology is not just a sector for development, but the path of development.” He outlined five major tasks for the technology business community: building national digital infrastructure, bringing AI into the public sector, popularising AI for SMEs, exporting Vietnamese technology products globally, and building computing capacity for the AI era.

The event also featured speeches by Mr. Phan Xuan Dung, President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, and Mr. Vu Hoang Lien, President of the Vietnam Internet Association, who emphasised that ICT has evolved from technology application into an industry targeting the global market.

INT2 was listed among the sponsors of the programme, alongside Hanel, MISA, NetNam, Tinh Van, Sapo, and HTC Telecommunications.

The 17th NAPROCK International Programming Contest (NAPROCK PROCON 2026 in Hanoi) opened on March 8, 2026 at the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University (VNU-UET). Themed “ICT for a Green Future”, the contest was hosted by VNU-UET in collaboration with the NAPROCK Programming Contest Supporting Association and the Vietnam Informatics Association.

2026 marks the first time the NAPROCK International Programming Contest is held in Viet Nam. The contest brought together 36 teams with 114 students from four countries: Viet Nam (15 teams), Japan (12 teams), Thailand (3 teams), and Mongolia (6 teams), The contest provided a forum for students passionate about programming and technological innovation.

INT2 sponsored this international event, which gathered students representing the new generation of young engineers in the region. The opening ceremony featured remarks by Prof. Kuwabara Hirofumi (President of the NAPROCK Association), Prof. Taniguchi Isao (President of the National Institute of Technology, Japan), Ambassador Ito Naoki (Embassy of Japan in Viet Nam), and VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son.

The 11th International Workshop on Vietnamese Language and Speech Processing (VLSP 2025) was held on October 29-30, 2025, at the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM), Hanoi. The workshop was co-organised by the VLSP Club under the Vietnam Informatics Association (VAIP) and VIASM, in conjunction with the 18th International Natural Language Generation Conference (INLG 2025), under the scientific auspices of SIGGEN, a special interest group of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL).

VLSP 2025 featured 11 evaluation tasks spanning speech processing, legal NLP, question answering, and multimodal applications: speech quality assessment, automatic speech recognition and speech emotion recognition, spoofing-aware speaker verification, Vietnamese voice conversion, deep retrieval in the legal landscape, Vietnamese legal assistant with small language models, numerical reasoning question answering, temporal question answering, semantic parsing, medical domain machine translation with limited-pretraining models, and multimodal legal question answering on traffic sign rules.

The workshop was co-chaired by Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen (VNU University of Science) and Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang (Hanoi University of Science and Technology). The scientific committee was co-chaired by Prof. Luong Chi Mai (Institute of Information Technology, VAST) and Prof. Nguyen Le Minh (JAIST, Japan).

INT2 continued its support of VLSP in 2025, contributing sponsorship and computing resources to the workshop and evaluation activities.

The workshop was supported by the Vingroup Innovation Foundation (VinIF) and a consortium of academic and industry partners including VinBigData, AIMESOFT, VBee, Dagoras, Zalo, VTCC, VCCorp, IOIT, VNU-UET, VNU-HUS, USTH, TLU, UIT, JAIST, INT2, and InfoRe.
