INT2 CEO receives Prime Minister’s Commendation for COVID-19 response

On May 22, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam presented the Prime Minister’s Commendation to members of the Rapid Response Information Team serving the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control. The ceremony took place at the team’s workplace in Ha Noi.

INT2 CEO Nguyen Viet-Cuong was among the recipients recognised for applying big data processing and artificial intelligence to model the pandemic situation, assess risk levels, and detect potential outbreak clusters. His wife, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, a PhD researcher in computer science, also joined the team from the earliest days, conducting detailed analysis of case data and outbreak clusters, and producing analytical charts to support decisions on social distancing, zoning, and outbreak suppression.

The Rapid Response Information Team was a volunteer group of IT experts and scientists assembled to support Viet Nam’s COVID-19 response. Team members contributed to contact tracing, the antoanCOVID.vn safety system, health declaration systems in outbreak zones, and risk assessment models for provinces nationwide.

The commendation was presented directly at the team’s workspace – with no flowers, no stage, no music – as members continued their work analysing the developing situation in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces.
