INT2 CEO Dr. Nguyen Viet Cuong presented at the AI 2021 Workshop, organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) as part of a series of five panel discussions to promote Viet Nam’s National AI Strategy 2030. His presentation, “Some proposals to strengthen national capacity for high-performance computing”, was delivered at the first session, themed “Data and Computing Infrastructure”, on July 5, 2021.
The workshop featured leading experts from research institutes, universities, and industry, alongside representatives from MOST and Australian specialists. Dr. Cuong presented on the current status and demand for high-performance computing (HPC) in industry and AI, and put forward proposals for a national strategy to strengthen HPC capacity.
Other speakers at the session included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thoai Nam from the High-Performance Computing Laboratory at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT – VNU-HCM), and Dr. Vo Sy Nam, Head of Applied Bioinformatics at the VinBigData Research Institute. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Head of the AI Target Laboratory at VNU-UET and Vice Director of the national KC 4.0 Science and Technology Programme.
